A custom-built Range Rover intended for former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal reportedly became the subject of a theft investigation after disappearing during the vehicle’s transport process, according to accounts surrounding the incident.
The SUV, valued at approximately $300,000, had been specially modified to accommodate O’Neal’s well-known physical stature. At 7’1”, he requires significant adjustments in standard vehicles, including increased interior space and structural customization, making such builds both complex and highly specialized.
Rather than being stolen from a dealership, residence, or public location, the vehicle was reportedly taken while it was in transit between locations. This detail is central to the investigation, as it suggests the theft occurred during a stage where custody of the vehicle had temporarily shifted to transport handlers.
Reports indicate that the incident may have involved deceptive practices rather than direct physical force. Individuals allegedly gained access to shipment-related information, which may have included timing, routing, and logistics details. In response, a $10,000 reward was reportedly offered for information leading to the recovery of the SUV.
